On June 30, 2023, the US Department of Justice’s Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant issued a local solicitation for FY 2023 to assist state, local, and tribal law enforcement in preventing crime and violence. The City of Denton, City of Lewisville, and the City of the Colony were eligible for a grant totaling $71,615, with the City of Denton receiving the grant. The City of Lewisville is eligible for $24,596 of that grant for the purchase of outer vest carriers (without ballistic panels), attachments for non-uniformed personnel, and safety equipment for firearms training.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the agreement and authorize the City Manager, or her designee, to execute the agreement as set forth in the caption.
