Approval of a Sponsorship Agreement in the Amount of $20,000 with Cloud9 Charities for North Texas Tribute Jam on October 19, 2024 and Approval of Waiving Special Event fees Associated With This Event.

ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENTS:
Cloud9 Charities has held the annual Best Little Brewfest in Texas event since 2013, and in Old Town Lewisville since 2014. Attendance at the Best Little Brewfest in Texas has not rebounded since the pandemic and there are fewer craft breweries, so Cloud9 would like to move to a new music-focused event on October 19, 2024, called North Texas Tribute Jam. The City has provided an annual $20,000 cash sponsorship (out of the Hotel Motel Fund) and waived special event fees associated with the Best Little Brewfest event and Cloud9 is requesting that the City shift that sponsorship and fee waiver to the new North Texas Tribute Jam event. These fees include Fire Department staffing and equipment costs, Police department staffing, street closures, and pedestrian blockade placement. The estimate for these fees is $10,309,64. Stage activation costs are covered in the sponsorship agreement, at a value of $1,500.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the agreement and fee waiver as set forth in the caption above.
