Approval of an Agreement for Assessment Billing and Collection Between the City of Lewisville and Denton County for Fiscal Year 2024-25; and Authorization for the City Manager to Execute the Agreement.

ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENTS:
In Fiscal Year 1997-98, the City first entered into an agreement with the Denton County Tax Assessor-Collector to bill and collect City ad valorem taxes. The City began using their services for the Josey Lane PID assessments in 2016 when assessments in this PID began. The City will begin billing and collecting PID assessments related to the Lakeside Crossing PID in FY2025 and an additional ILA is needed to allow the Denton County Tax Assessor to provide this service for Lakeside Crossing. Tax billing and collection services from the County have provided value to the City and have been very reliable. The contract rate for the new agreement is the same as was for the City and Josey Lane agreements. The contract rates per parcel will be $1.00. Funding to cover these expenditures will come from the trust accounts established when the Lakeside Crossing bonds were issued. No funding for this agreement will come from the City.
