ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENTS:

The City of Lewisville partnered with Marathon Health in 2013 to establish the Wellness Works Health Center, which opened in January 2014 to provide healthcare services for employees and dependents on the city’s health plan. In 2018, the clinic expanded to include part-time mental health services. The clinic operates under a cost-sharing agreement with the City of Coppell, with Lewisville covering 70% and Coppell 30% of expenses based on usage. Services offered include acute care, chronic condition management, health coaching, and mental health counseling. Demand for Wellness Works Behavioral Health services increased by 30% from 2022 to 2023, leading to the clinic’s part-time Licensed Professional Counselor reaching full capacity. Year one fees were included as part of the original agreement that was approved on January 22, 2024.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Council approve the amendment and authorize the City Manager, or her designee, to execute the amendment as set forth in the caption above.
