ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENTS:

The Texas Department of Transportation hired SEMA Construction Inc. to reconstruct the interchange on I-35E at FM 1171 (Main Street) within the City of Lewisville. In July, 2024 the City Council approved a lease agreement with SEMA Construction Inc. to use the subject property for staging and storage of equipment and materials related to construction of the I-35E at Main Street interchange. The existing lease agreement has a two-year term and an annual lump sum payment of $20,000 with options to extend the lease on a month-to-month basis on the same terms. SEMA Construction Inc. recently secured the TxDOT contract to reconstruct the interchanges on I-35 at Business 121 and Corporate Drive. SEMA Construction has subsequently approached City staff about extending the current lease under the existing terms until July 2029. The proposed amendment, extends the lease until July 2029 and updates SEMA Construction’s contact information

RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Council approve the lease agreement amendment and authorize the City Manager or, her designee, to execute the agreement as set forth in the caption above.
