ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENTS:
The America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 (AWIA) was passed by Congress on October 23, 2018. It specified that all community water systems that served more than 3,300 people are required to complete a risk and resiliency assessment and develop an associated emergency response plan. Systems serving more than 100,000 people are required to submit certification of completion by March 31, 2020 to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). CP&Y, Inc. is familiar with the city’s water and wastewater plants and is well suited to assist in meeting these federally mandated requirements.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the agreement as set forth in the caption above; and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement.
