ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENTS:

A special event permit application has been received for Second Saturdays, a recurring monthly farmers market hosted by the Lewisville Old Town Business Association. The event will be held on the second Saturday of each month in and around Wayne Ferguson Plaza and the alley between Main Street and Church Street. The event will be open to the public, and the applicant anticipates approximately 250 attendees per occurrence.  The applicant is requesting continuing City Council authorization of a full waiver of fees for the recurring monthly event without a fixed expiration date.  Currently, the estimated fees associated with the special event permit for Public Works and Parks & Recreation staff support, and special event crowd protection barricading are $812.94. Actual fees for future events may vary based on applicable rates. 

RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Council consider the requested fee waiver as set forth in the caption above.
