ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENTS:

The City of Lewisville requires businesses selling alcoholic beverages to obtain a local alcoholic beverage permit after receiving the applicable state license or permit. Neighborhood & Inspection Services administers the City's local permit review process and oversees ongoing compliance with local regulations. Recent amendments to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code changed the circumstances under which municipalities may assess local alcoholic beverage permit fees. To comply with these statutory changes, staff reviewed the City's ordinance and fee schedule to identify provisions that are no longer consistent with state law. The proposed amendments revise the City's permitting requirements and fee schedule to reflect the updated statutory requirements while maintaining the City's local permitting and compliance processes.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Council approve the ordinance as set forth in the caption above.
