ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENTS:
The Public Funds Investment Act requires the Investment Policy to be submitted to the governing body annually for approval. The revised Investment Policy represents a comprehensive update to the City's existing policy, primarily intended to clarify investment authority, strengthen internal controls, align provisions with the Texas Public Funds Investment Act (PFIA), and modernize investment management practices. The revisions work to preserve the City's conservative investment philosophy, emphasizing safety of principal, liquidity, and reasonable investment returns, while providing additional operational flexibility and more clearly defined responsibilities.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the revised policy statement as set forth in the caption above.
