ADMINISTRATIVE COMMENTS:
On April 15, 2024, City Council approved the construction agreement with Sundt Construction Inc. for $28,340,989.75 and work began in June 2024. While the project was under construction, the City Council approved the Midway Branch Force Main Project which was designed to be installed inside of the Corporate Drive right of way from east of the Trinity River bridge over the Elm Fork to Holfords Prairie Road. The proposed alignment of the force main has impacted the contractor’s ability to complete the work as part of Segments 2 and 3. Therefore, this work is being added to the Segments 4 and 5 project. To build Segment 5, in October 2013, the City of Lewisville entered an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Carrollton for the construction of the uncompleted portions of Carrollton Parkway between Holfords Prairie Road and Old Denton Drive. The existing pavement has deteriorated to a condition that the City of Carrollton has requested additional pavement be installed at the Kiowa intersection. Therefore, Change Order #5 results in an increase in the contract amount of $2,039,695.14.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve Change Order #5, authorize the City Manager, or her designee, to execute the change order and invoice the City of Carrollton as set forth in the caption above.
